Chanello

Chanel spring 2009 - Who would ever imagine Coco's classics would go rock n roll... Karl is amazing. I'd take up guitar immediately if someone gave me that black Chanel instrument and quilted case. Guitars are the new shoes.

traina + brill

We're definitely addicted to style.com - specifically to "The Intersection" videos where they stop people on the street and at parties to disect their outfits. SOOO when we saw this episode of The Intersection posted today we were super excited as it features two of our favourite ladies: Jen Brill and Vanessa Traina.
Check it out!:

I really wish I could be wearing any of these to my work holiday party this week-I currently have nothing :(

pleather pants

Evidently we can't get enough of Erin...she just has this amazing edge. We're also suckers for any version of a skinny black leather or faux leather pant. And on a beauty note (I know something we rarely comment on) we're really inspired by her hair and make-up right now. It's minimal and barely there but the hint of black liner along with the unkempt look of her hair is perfect.

Printed pants

We saw them on the Balmain runway-now adorning the bodies of some of our favorite models. Lucky for them, theirs probably don't lose shape and stretch out like the $50 black leopard print ones I picked up from zara.

Brrrrr

Pardon the background, but we had to show off this blazer meets shirt from zara. Most blogs we read are based out west, where snow is unheard of-so winter inspiration is lacking. Hope this helps for those toughing out the cold. Only 4-5 month more to go.

Paul Smith

Picture of stylist Amy Lu with British fashion designer Paul Smith. He recently had a meet and greet during an evening event at Holt Renfrew in Vancouver. Smith gave a short talk where he spoke about his career, touching on how he got started and where he gets his inspiration. Here's some amazing looks from one of his spring 2009 collections. Very 1970's meets Johnny Depp meets a hint of grunge (note the smokey eye make-up).

Alexander McQueen for Target?

Super Shocked when I read THIS. Not like it matters to us, we don't have Target here. But thoughts anyone? It's supposed to be inspired by Leila Moss, lead singer of the 80's British rock band The Duke Spirit. Her look isn't too far from the other Moss - another McQueen favourite. If you can recall the infamous hollogram during his f/w 2006 show - a tribute to the icon during her media scandal period. This is one of my favourite "Fashion Moments", if you will. McQueen is so brilliant. He is extremely educated, and takes fashion to the level of conceptual art. Definitely someone who has inspired us over the years.

Skirts are out of the question when it's freezing out-but sometimes jeans are so uninspired-these girls make and easy outfit far from dull
